This season, it’s all about volume, cotton, and comfort. Some skirts read “cool petticoat” while others are more bubbly, or just plain classic. There’s simple black or white, eyelet, pops of color and sweet prints. So many to style so many ways, and I’m even into them with sweaters through the fall.
This cool Gap number keeps selling out (but it seems like they keep getting more).
The pretty pink feels fresh here. I would do a white or black tee with it.
Here’s the Uniqlo one that my friend Edith Machinist says all the cool girls are wearing into her shop. Total tangent, but someone needs to buy this chic 1950’s Loewe clutch stat.
Madewell’s cute wrap style has slight ‘70s vibes and I’m picturing it over a classic leotard (with a snap crotch, of course).
This Gap/Doen collab is so sweet.
And here’s another tiered version with handy pockets that’s a little less voluminous than the Uniqlo.
This one is light and airy with good coverage (if you’re not into showing off your legs so much).
I love the cute little flowers on this.
Everlane’s linen eyelet piece looks especially great in black.
And this very Victorian style looks like a perfect vintage piece. It would be so good with a white tee and flip-flops, or oxfords like these (not the boots pictured) and a big sweater come fall. The skirt also comes with a bustier that you can gift to your favorite Gen Z-er, or maybe even wear under a button-down.
I love a full or a-line skirt!!!!
I noticed that the Gap restocks sold out items. Over the years, I often wondered why don’t companies make more of popular, sold out items! I was recently looking at a Gap x Dôen eyelet mini dress that sold out while I was looking at it. A few weeks later, it was back in stock, so I bought one!
