I’ve been traveling more than usual lately— both plane and car trips. Either way, I always have the same stuff to make the voyage easier. First up, I love my Away bags, and on my last big plane trip I used my trusty Medium rolly— mine is navy but my friend had the army green and I have to say, I was a little jealous. Might have to get the green carry-on…
There’s no better plane pant than the Ruti On the Loose. Sure, you can wear sweats or leggings, but these keep you from looking like a college student heading for spring break, and they still look polished with sneakers or Birks. I have the petite version (I’m short), and don’t forget the code ANDREA15 for a nice discount!
I brought this classic Longchamps bag as a carry-on on my last trip (you can’t throw a rock in New York City lately without hitting a version of one, btw), and it carries so much, is quietly chic, and totally waterproof. I also have this little guy for non-travel days— and they both roll up and snap closed for easy storage. p.s. If you prefer a shoulder bag, there’s always this version.
If you haven’t tried Caudalie Beauty Elixir you’re in for a real treat. It’s super refreshing and tingly and perfect for air travel (I also put it in the fridge in summer). Think of it as a super elevated Sea Breeze (Remember that?!).
I don’t have this chic silk eye mask that comes in its own little pouch, but I really want one for my next flight (or daytime nap). Get 15% off site-wide with the code ANDREA-15.
I love these fun little travel perfume bottles that are easy to fill, and come in cool metallic colors.
On my last trip I stupidly wore Birks with no socks and they made me take off my shoes (I usually don’t have to but I set the thing off). Needless to say, the soles of my feet were black when I was through with my pat-down. So next time I’m wearing these cozy cotton Birkenstock socks that help with the grip when you walk, too.
And here are said Birks (mine are Taupe but I really want the dark brown). They’re perfect for the plane, and for walking around wherever your destination.
I get so dry at 30,000 feet, so I need The Outset Lip Oasis, which I’ve recently become addicted to— it goes on so light and smooth (not sticky!), and leaves lips feeling super soft. And I don’t think I will ever go anywhere again without the Rescue Balm in my bag (even locally— I found myself using it on the street yesterday!) And don’t forget you get 20% off with the code ANDREA20.
I never go anywhere without something to put around my shoulders/neck, and this cozy wrap is like a blanket with stole vibes. Plus, it’s 15% off with the code ANDREA15 (along with everything else on the site).
I hate rummaging through makeup bags, so I recently switched from one big one to a few smaller clear pouches like this, which easily tuck in between clothes, and you can see everything easily. Shout out to my friend Christine who taught me this!
I also don’t get on the plane without a simple cashmere sweater like this, and, then, of course you have it for your whole trip.
I take a lot of vitamins, so I got this handy little clutch case that stores at least a week’s worth.
And so I don’t get dehydrated on the plane, I plan on carrying some packets of that new natural Gatorade Hydration Booster that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago. It’s made from only good stuff, and actually tastes really good. Win win.
I have to say that Longchamp is not waterproof, it's just nylon, which tends to repel water. Even Longchamp doesn't say it's waterproof on their site. I sell handbags for a living and we say 'tends to be water resistant', because I'm not going to be held liable if you get caught in the rain and your laptop gets wet!
Love the clear pouch idea. I swear by packing cubes they really help to organize especially for quick turn around trips
