Button-downs for the Win
I have more button-downs (or button-ups, as some insist) than I can count. Classic men’s ones, old tuxedo shirts—Here’s a good new one, striped, solid, you name it. I like them unbuttoned sometimes to show a peek of a pretty bra (code: ANDREAVIP30), or closed all the way to the top. Cuffs down and loose, or rolled up past the elbows. And I wear them with just about any bottom you can think of, tucked in or out, even over a slip dress. So first up, we have my new striped number from WNU, that’s got the charm of a menswear style, with a bit of a drape. The jeans are vintage Levi’s (new pair here, and these Mavis have a nice, wider leg). Here are the cream patent-leather slingbacks (cute with gray socks, too). And these have a similar vibe with a little heel.
I’ve been on tenterhooks waiting for this perfect plaid cotton shirt ever since I saw Nikki Kule sporting it at the spring preview months and months ago (it comes with a matching bandana!). I thought it would be cute with my old Brooks Brothers boys’ tropical wool plaid trousers for a subtle clash. More pant options: Veronica Beard’s linen version, which is a bit sexier than mine; these wider menswear ones, and this silk pair from Theory, that’s a little bolder. Those are the Prada-esque Pêche shoes I wrote about last week (I love them more than ever).
I just got this 4 Objects work shirt in the very cool indigo (I wear the chambray and wool versions on repeat). I would normally throw it on with jeans (these goodies are on their way to me as I write, and I've been liking this bootcut style lately), the skinny black Saint Laurent trousers are another score from Pilgrim (how about these or these with a bit more of a flare?), and super-cute, comfy Beek slingbacks (code: ANDREA10). The western-style belt is from The RealReal, but here’s a great option, and this one has a cool texture.
And I love Ozma’s sand button-down with my vintage army pants. You can get a just-as-fab new pair from Outerknown, and I like the idea of these, an off-white carpenter pant like this, or classic white jeans. I added the gold mules my friend Anne turned me on to just to elevate everything a smidge (they run big, go down a size!). I would do my Loeffler Randalls, too, btw.

There's no such thing as too many button downs! Love this.
I need more button-down/ups, speaking for myself
