Look of the Day: Minimal Summer Perfection

I found this shot of two chic women heading off to who knows where, looking cool, crisp, and perfectly put together (no easy feat right about now in NYC). So, of course I got inspired, which, as usual, led me to break it all down.

On the left, she’s wearing a bib-front tux shirt very much like this one from Soeur (now on sale), a black, raw-hemmed skirt—This Khaite number could work, and it’s on sale, The shoes appear to be pony sandals, and I like these as an alternate (also now 30% off) UPDATE: Thank you Kelly, for pointing out they’re actually silver Birks (still love the pony idea though). Her laser-cut leather tote is a pricy Aläia, but this Kate Spade one is a pretty great dupe, and has a more practical shoulder strap (also kind of love the white). She’s wearing a simple gold bangle and I like this this cuff for us.

On the right, she’s got an asymmetric dark blue skirt, and this A.L.C. one is a good option (and on sale), Her white tee is slightly boxy with longer sleeves, like this, the simple-chic sandals are a lot like these, Her sunglasses are exaggerated, square aviators like these Ray Bans. Her tank watch is probably Cartier, but this works, and here’s a small, black crossbody, plus, a thin cotton sweater to keep on hand for overly air-conditioned spaces.
