My friend Anne and I always felt like black pants made us feel like we were about to pass around hors d’oeuvres at a party (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but not usually the look one is going for). So today I prove us wrong with three cute options starring this classic cropped number from Theory. (aka the pant expert if there ever was one). And all colors are now on sale!
Go French classic with a red button-down under a sweater vest, ballet pumps (my new favorites— great toe), and a chis suede saddlebag (also love the Khaki, (and it looks much more expensive than it is).
Make them downtown-nautical with a striped tee, under a classic pea coat, old-school Docs and a little wool cap (this one has a good big cuff).
Dress them up a little with a fun leopard blouse, sleek suede ankle boots, a cool, chunky silver buckle ring (very Hermés), and a simple shoulder bag.
Love these "Three Ways" posts, Andrea. Also, have been meaning to tell you how much I enjoy your spot-on references (the other day--the "Burt Reynolds/Robert DeNiro in the 70's" pants--YES!). These riffs always make me smile (a good thing these days), but they're also a fascinating look into your brain, how you see clothes and the stories they tell. Love that and appreciate you. xo
I love this post so much, because I own most of these pieces (or something very similar- and I never thought to put them together in these combinations! Helping me tremendously in my no-buy resolution!
