A few months ago I was invited to a 4 Objects trunk show, where I flipped out over most everything and left with my now-favorite organic Japanese chambray shirt, a wool blend button-down (that I often layer over the chambray), and black alpaca sweater (all of which I wear on repeat). Guests were asked to try on this silk dress and give feedback because that’s how designers Mae and Ku alter and tweak to get the perfect fit. Anyway, I lingered in it for quite a while and have had this perfect piece on the brain ever since— it’s slinky, comfy, just the right length, with cool kimono-y sleeves and a deep neck that you can snap higher, or leave open— cinch the waist or wear it completely loose. It’s really the only black dress you’ll ever need, and finally, I’m happy to say, it’s all mine. I can’t wait to wear it all on its own, layered (even over jeans), with sandals (love these), ankle or knee boots, flats, heels…
Get dolled up and add sexy, strappy heels, a chic, pleated clutch, bold, pretty earrings, and a fun Apparis stole.
Fast forward to beachy summer days and throw it over a simple bikini top (here’s a good matching bottom) gold, leather flip flops (my favorite color with army green), oversized Isabel Marant sunnies (on sale), and a classic bL.L. Bean camo tote.
Go a little ‘70s and layer it over a thin turtleneck, add sleek knee boots, a cool leather shoulder bag, and simple silver hoops.
I’m really intrigued by this dress! Can you tell me - what are the care instructions? Dry clean or machine wash?
I wish ll bean made the camo tote in small. They only make the camo in med and large.
